Meet Ripple: clarity before your next WordPress change.

Our new WordPress plugin is taking shape with a polished dashboard, dedicated navigation and mobile layouts that help site owners review plugin dependencies before making a change.

Development has begun on Ripple, a WordPress plugin from Hamelton Software built around a practical question: what content relies on a plugin you are about to deactivate?

The first working preview scans content for plugin-owned blocks and shortcodes, then brings the affected records into a dashboard you can inspect before making a change. The screenshot above shows the real development build running on our local WordPress test installation.

A clearer place to make decisions.

Ripple’s refreshed interface gives its work four dedicated destinations: Overview for the site summary, Dependencies for plugin impact, Review queue for references without a confirmed owner, and Scan coverage for the scope and boundaries of a report.

Scan status and timestamps help distinguish a current report from one that needs refreshing. The current preview adds plugin search, content filters and paginated impact lists, while keeping the full dependency count visible. Dependency cards lead to an impact preview with links to the content that needs attention.

Designed to stay readable on mobile.

The dashboard adapts its navigation and summary cards to smaller screens. On phones, impact tables become stacked records with visible labels, keeping content titles, dependency details and review links readable without sideways scrolling.

This preview has been checked at narrow phone and tablet widths alongside its desktop layout. Mobile refinement and broader compatibility testing will continue as development progresses.

Evidence before deactivation.

In the supported single-plugin WordPress admin flow, Ripple offers a preview before deactivation. It identifies direct block and shortcode dependencies and follows references through reusable patterns. References without confirmed ownership stay in the review queue rather than being assigned to a plugin by guesswork.

Reports describe the content Ripple can inspect; they do not guarantee that removing a plugin is safe. Page-builder metadata, runtime integrations and other content outside the current scan coverage may need separate review. Backups and staging remain part of a careful change process.

A development preview, with more to come.

Ripple is in active development and is not yet available for public purchase or download. The current preview reads content without rendering it or executing shortcodes. Reports remain in the WordPress database, with no external API or telemetry used by the scanner.

We will share further development updates here as the product grows. Visit the Ripple product page for its planned offering, or contact Hamelton Software with questions and feedback.
