Recent Wayfarer work strengthens the research side of the browser. Improvements to Field Notes and tools for searching research notes make the notebook a clearer part of the browsing workflow.

Keep research notes within reach.

The development work fixes Field Notes and adds tools for searching the research notebook. Browsing for information often involves returning to something collected earlier; searchable notes provide a way to find that material again.

The focus of this update is the notebook and the tools around it. It does not announce a new public release on its own.

Check JavaScript before launch and build.

JavaScript syntax validation has been introduced before launching or building the browser. Checking syntax earlier helps identify parsing problems before they reach a browser launch or build attempt.

This is a development check rather than a substitute for testing features in use. It supports the work of keeping the browser’s code ready to run while functional testing continues to assess behavior.

A more considered product website.

The official Wayfarer website also received refined navigation and drawn menu chevrons. These changes make the site’s menus and movement between pages more consistent with the product’s presentation.

The corporate website provides an overview of Wayfarer alongside the rest of the Hamelton Software portfolio. The official product website remains the destination for release history and downloads.

Current availability.

At the time of this update, the public Windows release is 0.18.0-beta.1. Android remains an early testing build. Development updates should be considered alongside those availability labels when choosing a build.

For a Field Notes issue, include your Wayfarer version, platform and the action you were taking when the problem occurred. The product-specific help page and contact form provide a route for those reports.
